Help Support The Best 100 Lists

The Best 100 Lists has become a very time consuming project.  To help keep the project going all I’m asking you to do is buy your books, DVDs, video games, or whatever else through this link: http://www.thebest100lists.com/amazon.html.  This allows us to make a small commission on all sales but does not cost you anything extra.  Please bookmark that link and use it for all of your amazon purchaces.  Thank you for your support.

Some Notes On New Lists

With all of the new lists going up this past month I thought I would save some time and effort in replying to emails about new lists.  Before you send me an email telling me that the list is wrong, crazy, garbage, or whatever is on your mind, remember these notes:

  1. New lists have very few votes.
  2. Few votes make for a very inaccurate list.
  3. They will change over time.
  4. When the list has several thousand votes it will be more accurate.

I know that new lists are not all that accurate.  Some of the things listed on new lists have fewer than 50 votes so the results can easily be skewed.  On our oldest(and my favorite) list, Best 100 Novels, all of the books on the list have several hundred votes and some have in the tens of thousands near the top.  This is how all of our lists will hopefully be in time so please just give them a chance.

If you disagree with the results on a newer list don’t send me a nasty email about it.  Just cast your vote and next time the list is updated maybe you will be happier with it.

Best wishes to Joe Marth

The best 100 Lists sends  our best withes out to friend of the site Joe Marth.  Joe is on active duty in the US Army with his wife Michelle and his new son  Collin.  We wish you the best, Warrent Officer Marth, in all of your endeavors, and thank you for your service to our country.

Not only is Mr. Marth a great friend and outstanding human being, he is also someone we have always been able to count on in a tough situation.   I was proud to have been Joe’s best man at his wedding.  Looking forward to good times ahead and a safe return.

Be safe and fly true.  You are missed.

I hope that everyone has Joe and his family in there prayers.

All Pending Reviews Have Posted

If you submitted a review or comment on any of the lists and it had not been posted until now I appologize.  There was a lot of work that I had to make up in trying to maintain the databases for all 13 lists and trying to get the new lists up and running.  All of the reviews that were in the que have now posted.  Thank you everyone for your contributions to the site and for your patience.

The Best 100 Video Games List is Now Live

The Best 100 Video Games list is finally up and running.  I was happy to see some of the old school games make the top 25 like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, and Tetris.  While a lot of newer more high tech games dominated the top of the list it seems there is still a decent diversity of old school nintendo and new 3D games.

The top 10 on the new list are:

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  2. Halo
  3. Super Mario 64
  4. Grand Theft Auto 4
  5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  6. Super Mario Brothers
  7. Final Fantasy 7
  8. Super Mario Brothers 3
  9. Assassin’s Creed
  10. Tetris

You can check out the top 25 at the new Best 100 Video Games page.

Since I don’t play many video games and haven’t really gotten into one since Super Mario Brothers I’m going to need a lot of help with the reviews on this list.  Anything that you can tell me about any of these games should be very helpful.
