The list has been expanded from just 60 songs to the full 100 songs.   The Best 100 Songs added several Michael Jackson songs and seems to have lowered some of the Beatles tunes that previously dominated the top of the list.  You can check out the new list by going to The Best 100 Songs page.  Previous versions of the list are always available in the Previous Lists section of the website.

Next up is the Best 100 TV Shows scheduled for the first Monday in October.   That update should be a huge one bringing the current list of 30 television shows all the way up to 100.

In an attempt to keep up with all of the votes coming in, we are trying to get voters to follow certain guidelines when they cast their votes.  The format that votes must be in is listed at the top of every vote form.  An example is on the best 100 novels list, votes must be in this format: Title – Author.  If they are not they will not be counted in our system.

Actors, Authors, and Musicians must include the person’s full first and last name unless it is not appropriate to do so.  Madonna for example would be totally acceptable.  Hendrix, on the other hand would not.  You must type Jimi Hendrix for the vote to be counted.

This new system will allow for updates to be performed every week rather than once a year as had been the case as I fell further and further behind.  I hope that the new system works out as planned and will keep everyone posted as to any updates.

The best 100 novels list was just updated.  Recent additions to the list include The Road by Cormac McCarthy, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and others.  To check out the full list go to The Best 100 Novels list located on the main page.   To see how the list has changed over time you can always check out previous versions of the list on the Previous Lists page.

Next in line to be updated is the Best 100 Songs that is scheduled to run on Monday the 27th of May.  Also still on the horizon is a collection of brand new lists to vote on.  Stay tuned for more information about current and new lists.

The Best 100 Nonfiction Books list has just been updated.  The list is still fairly new so there are only 35 books displayed to this point.  As more votes come in the rest of the best 100 list will be posted.  As always you can check out all of the previous versions of the list by looking in the “Previous Lists” section of the website.

The Best 100 Movies list, that was scheduled to be updated last Monday, has now been updated.  You can find the new list at Best 100 Movies and as always you can find any previous version of the list under the previous lists section of the site.

Due to the holiday in the US the update of The Best 100 Musicians has been pushed back to Thursday the 9th so please check back then for further updates.
